Three hot libertarian dudes, two of whom were shirtless, surely compensates for the inclusion of one hot libertarian woman.

Oh, probably. I don't want to post it outside of Facebook's privacy wall, then. Try this one - http://www.flickr.com/photos/jdtalley/3537143325/ - though it's not quite as hawt in my, admittedly heterosexual, opinion.

Gosh, I don't think I've ever been called lickable before. Surely you need of pic of Pete with his shirt off here.

I, too, have noticed the disproportionate hotness of female libertarians. My theory is that attractive women have less need to socially signal their commitment to dominant standards of morality, and so are more willing to actually think about politi…

I do think protection from states is the most important risk to a stateless society, but I don't think it's a deal-breaker. I'm mostly with Xaq on this. I'd also point out that there's no "centre of gravity" for an invading army to attack: no capit…

About me:
Masters student in Political Science at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
What are your political or ideological affiliations?
Ideological anarchist doubtful of whether orderly anarchy is stable, but positive limited government is impossible. I think Seasteading and other forms of competitive government are the most realistic way of achieving liberty in our lifetime.

Patri Friedman Sees Hope for Libertarianism in the Young

I'll just quote this whole post from Patri, because I think it's important:

I'm at the Students For Liberty regional in Arizona, and here's what I just witnessed:

A student panel about how to get the word out about liberty.

A group of economics professors talking about the economics of a free society.

The student panel included some gr

Bailouts and Capitalism

Cross-posted at my blog.

The G-20 protesters in Pittsburgh seem to have some interesting political views:

The marchers included small groups of self-described anarchists, some wearing dark clothes and bandanas and carrying bla

Fr33 Agents Manifesto

I think we need a manifesto so first-time visitors are able to get a better view of what we're about. Nicky, as editor in chief, should have the final say; but does anyone have suggestions for what should be there?

I think it needs to be inclusive. We're mostly anarchists favoring action outside existing political structures, but we want to include anyone who genuinely values liberty. It needs to emphasize the decentralized nature of thee network. The way the merchandising seems to be going is… Continue

Bullion and Bandits: The Improbable Rise and Fall of E-Gold

This Wired article on e-gold makes for fascinating reading:
MELBOURNE, Florida — In a sparsely decorated office suite two floors above a neighborhood of strip malls and car dealerships, former oncologist Douglas Jackson is struggling to resuscitate a dying dream. Jackson, 51, is the maverick founder of E-Gold, the first-of-its-kind digital currency that was once used by millions of people in more th

Altruism can be a sickness. But, many objectivists of my personal acquaintance, such as Barbara Branden, view charitable giving as an investment in the future.

After a friend of mine won a taxi dance with her at auction, I asked Barbara about this idea of charity. In particular, why she was giving of herself in this charity auction for the International Society for Individual Liberty. She trotted out the investment in the future idea.

Ragnar and many of the other characters upholding the vision of John Galt actually do a number of things that seem selfless, to me. Why would Ragnar return gold bars to guys like Hank Rearden? He could simply keep them for himself.

But the sickness of altruism exudes from every pore of the relationship between Rearden and his wife. There's nothing healthy about that relationship. Altruism to the point of self-abnegation is somehow morally wrong, and batshit insane.

Perhaps the most important part of the objectivist view is that it holds down a very extreme position, leaving the rest of us more room to form a synthesis that works. I very often take extreme positions myself for this very reason.

Libertarianism and free markets are about the selfish individual. Self-interest has gotten a bad rap.

Me, I'm a filthy savage. Ego sum homo indomitus.

Are you serious about seasteading? If so, then I would like to make contact with you. I'm a mechanical engineer for power generation, and I just began an operations job in AZ so that I could build experience. I thought seasteading was still academic until I began hearing advertisements and recruitment on Free Talk Live this month. Now I feel the pull to add my talents to such a project, yet I am quite short of personal capital still.
