I got drawn into debate with a few moral nihilists on youtube. Thought this might be interesting for some people here. Warning: explicit language.

LONG BEACH, N.Y. – In the long and painful debate over whether he should have done more to halt the murder of 6 million Jews by the Nazis and their collaborators in World War II, Pope Pius XII has an unusual defender.
Gary Krupp, who is Jewish, says he grew up hating the late pontiff. Now, at 62, the retired Long Island businessman is caught up in the controversy over the Vatican's effort to make Pius a saint. He says that as a Jew he's not interested in the sainthood issue — he just wants to de…

I'm not a Tea Party fan. Sure, I somewhat agree with some of the loosely stated goals of the vaguely defined Tea Party movement, but the
rah rah, flag-waving, pro-government-as-long-as-they-are-in-charge crowd are not my kind of people. Further, I find it hard to take a so-called movement for fiscal responsibility and free market principles seriously when many of its supposed advocates are in favor of taxpayer-funded wars in spite of their crippling…

Like Paleoconservatives, the Christian Right has never been a friend to Libertarians with their support for the Patriot Act, government involvement in the bed room, income redistribution to Israel under the guise of "foreign aid" among other things. So I wasn't surprised that in my daily email that I receive from Politico had an article titled "
Tea Parties stir evangelicals" . The gist of the piece consists of Christian Right com…

In a free market there will be two groups of people. Group A is only willing to hold gold coins or gold deposit certificates issued by vaults that issue exactly one certificate per ounce of gold in the vault. Group B is willing to also hold gold deposit certificates issued by banks that issue more certificates than ounces of gold held in their vault. This is the difference between fully-reserved and fractionally-reserved gold certificates.
An example will illustrate the fraud of fract…

Linkity Link:
This is a bio on the 80's thrash band Dark Angel.
I worked with one of their guitarists as a salesman at Guitar Center about 10 years back. So when I saw a torrent pop up with the bands name on it, I googled it to see if this was my old acquaintance's work. Apparently it was, and their back catalog has been remastered and

You would think with the current economic, social, and political tensions Conservatives would be just a tad bit more respectful towards us but even that seems to be a pipe dream. With the negative conservative reactions that came from Ron Paul's CPAC victory (or as Lew Rockwell puts it the first Republican primary) it's reasonable to believe that attacks on Libertarians and Libertarian thought are going to increase especially since the youth vote (which is the voting demographic I'm in by the wa…

(It's already dead.)
The
US Treasury said today that the deficit for February 2010 was $220.9 Billion.
The
debt clock says the number of taxpayers in the US is almost 109,565,000
So, in ONE MONTH, every American with a job went $2,016.15 further in debt.
Oh, yeah, this will resolve just fine!

Some years ago, a friend of mine named Andrew had a problem for which a peaceful solution was not obvious. He put it out for group discussion, and brainstorming ensued. As I recall, I was no help in the matter at all, nor were several others involved in the discussion. Simply living with the problem was an option, but a rather crappy option that essentially involved getting socially bulldozed by a bully. Fortunately, a fellow named Dave came up with a brilliant solution which Andrew successfully…

Another great find, Agents. A few weeks ago a multi-tendency antiwar meeting too place. Conservatives, Progressives, Liberals, and Libertarians came together to build an antiwar movement. Whatever their differences, they stood united in opposition to war, imperialism, and the military-industrial complex. Currently called "Come Home, America", it shows the makings of a new Anti-Imperialist League.
